Complex PTSD often manifests if you have experienced childhood adversities and then experience traumatic events in adulthood.
Because you're brain was wired up to be fearful it didn't have the resources to tolerate the subsequent stress you endured.
You see when I was 8, my mum was in a serious car crash and life was never the same again. She’d been left with life long spinal damage and couldn’t do the things she used to. I kept being told, ‘you should feel lucky she’s still alive!’ I didn’t feel lucky at all. I felt alone, scared and my mummy wasn’t my mummy anymore.
In the previous years to my mum's accident I also experienced many stresses with my parents divorce, moving to the other side of the country, undiagnosed dyslexia, bullying.
As I transitioned into adulthood I believed it was completely my fault I was anxious all the time and couldn’t live a ‘successful’ life.
When I started to learn about the biological reactions to trauma and what complex PTSD was, it blew my mind. So many light bulbs went off as to why I had felt the way I did.
I realised IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!
It was my brain working exactly as it should do to protect myself. When I learned how to tune into my limbic system and rewire my trauma reactions I started to feel genuinely happy and connected to my life in a way I didn’t realise was possible.
I’ve now taught these methods to hundreds of clients and witnessed many wonderful transformations.

These explain trauma, neuroscience and emotions in short, easy to understand chunks. Attached to each module is a relevant exercise you can refer back to anytime you need to.
